"On The Trail" is a very short piece that illustrates what can be done by using 8-bar phrases. After a 2-bar intro of the theme, the piece moves slowly through the first section. This gets repeated and the piece ends making for a minute of music.
Of course, if I wanted to add to this piece (which I will be doing) I just add in another section. And after this (B) section is added, we use the composer's tools of repetition and contrast for a longer piece of music.
