Recommended Listening - Marias River Breakdown by Phillip Aaberg

Here's one of my favorite 'new age' piano composers. And the guy who inspired George Winston to create his minimalistic sound. This piece is an excellent example of how much music can be created using a simple ostinato pattern. Listen how he subtlely changes tempo and phrasing but keeps that pattern going.

Aaberg used to record for the Windham Hill label and released 'High Plains' in 1990. The track Marias River Breakdown is from this CD. If you like the music playing here, the rest of the album is just as good! Highly recommended.
