Recommended Listening - Jane Leslie: "Southampton Sunset"

A couple things I like about this one. First, there's melody. So many 'New Age' piano compositions disregard melody in favor of textures. As I've mentioned many times before, I love that style as well, but why leave out the most memorable thing music has to offer? Melody will stay with you far longer than mere whisps of texture.

Another thing I like about this is 'how' she plays - with sensitivity and artistry. Notice too how the theme is developed through various repetitions. Nothing complicated here. Just a nice melody harmonized and then performed well. Learn more about Jane at her website http://janelesliemusic.com/_/Home.html
