When Windham Hill Was Good
Remember Windham Hill? The preeminent label for New Age piano? They used to be very good at what they did which was to find new artists of contemporary/New Age piano and introduce their works to the world.
What happened to Windham Hill? The founder, Will Ackerman sold the label to a record giant for many millions of dollars. Now the label stands for nothing and its many fans, including myself, are saddened.
I just wonder what would have happened if the $dollar signs wouldn't have blinded Will Ackerman and the integrity of the label remained intact. Just wondering.
