George Winston recently posted this to his YouTube account and I just had to post it for you on my blog.
What I love so much about George's music is that you can really hear how he trusts his intuition - it comes through in the music.
No strict tempo or metronomic pulse here. Just music from the heart to the heart (as Beethoven used to say.)
By the way, can anyone tell me what he's actually doing here in terms of composition? Is the music major or minor? Through-composed (one section) or some other form? Melodic, textural, or both?

ReplyDeleteI love this piece of music, "Woods," by George Winston. I had never heard of George and I am happy that Edward shared this with us. I believe that this piece is a minor piece.I hear the minor notes coming from the arpeggiated runs. His music is very easy going, relaxing and kind of hypnotic. His music is very colorful and you can actually imagine being in the woods. It leaves a meloncholy feeling. Miriam
