Great Example of What Can Be Done With a Simple Arrangement

OK. This one's a little weird. I mean the entire piece is a simple bass chord pattern. That's it! Yet it works because of the melody. The composer/improviser sets the mood with the left hand and adds in whffs of melody in the right.

But how is interest maintained? After all, this piece is over seven minutes long. Well, for one, after a while you begin to accept just what this piece is ... an improvisation exploring mood.

What I find interesting about this is the fact that literally no contrast is introduced but one is "drawn into" the piece. Hypnotic and beautiful, this one's good for studying what you can do with just one simple bass chord pattern!

Hypnotic, haunting, beautiful, relaxing, intriguing, simple, pictures of whatever I, the audience, want to experience.

    Thank you!
