We have a nice little 'mood' opening here with the right hand. Just a few whisps of melody to set the mood for 'January Stars.'
Then another short contrasting section and back to the 'whisps.' A small ABA form if you will.
But then we get something new. Some change - an ostinato pattern in the left hand with a new melody from the right. Some suggest New Age piano music has no form. And some of it has very little. But Winston is very interesting here. He goes back and forth between the first ABA section and the ostinato pattern or 'C' section to create a first rate New Age piano composition.
